As an artist, Javier Mariscal cannot be categorized. His creative outlets run the gamut from corporate brand imaging to the comic characters of El Senor del Caballito and Twipsy, the official mascot of the EXPO 2000 World's Fair. Formally trained, he was influenced by the counterculture scene of his time and started his career making underground comics. He then worked in product, furniture design, and interiors and joined the legendary Memphis Group, where he designed his iconic postmodern "Mickey Chair."

Mariscal has been involved with fine art printing since its inception. A loyal customer of HP Large Format Print Media, he quips, "Here in Barcelona, where I live, HP has an innovative research campus, a campus which is constantly developing high-quality printing products at a very reasonable price. I imagine if Toulouse-Lautrec were still alive, he would come to Barcelona to work for HP."

For his online studio, mariscalstore.com, he prints his posters and reproductions on HP Matte Litho-realistic Paper.
